ROOT Earn Their Major Qualifier Spot After Losing Monkeys-Forever to Team Archon

ROOT Gaming earn their Frankfurt Major qualifier spot by making the finals of the open qualifier after losing their mid player Jaron “monkeys-forever” Clinton to Team Archon barely a day ago.

There’s Salt In The AirPJSalt

After a disappointing performance at ESL One New York, Team Archon kicked Eric “747” Dong and replaced him with ROOT monkeys-forever. This meant that Team Archon forfeited their spot to first open qualifier runners-up Boreal Esports and were forced to attempt to earn their spot back through the second open qualifier.
This decision did not prove to be fruitful after Team Archon were knocked out of the open qualifier in the row of 16 by the Peruvian squad Team Dilecom.
Team Archon will have another chance to showcase their new roster at the Summit 4 American qualifier against GOD BLESS, where they have already been knocked down to the loser’s bracket by SmAsH’s Elite Wolves

747 has received plenty of support from the community since his removal from Archon, which also translated to hate towards the veterans Brian “FLUFFNSTUFF” Lee and Jio “Jeyo” Madayag.

In an AMA, 747 expressed that he felt ignored on Archon and believed it may have been a “veteran newbie hierarchy” that existed within the team.

Now What?

ROOT’s qualifying for the Frankfurt Major American Qualifier probably does not mean much in the grand scheme of things. There is only a slim chance they will be able to play at the same level as Cloud 9 or Digital Chaos. For the time being, their victory is just the salt rubbed into the wounds of Team Archon.
